Date & Dish

Last night the Designer and I went out on our second date.  He picked me up and we drove to the Farmer’s Market to pick up some dungeoness crabs for dinner.  I don’t really have great seafood preparation skills and I had never prepared crab so I let the Designer take the lead.  We picked up 3 crabs, some ears of corn and then headed back to my place to do the cooking.  It was quite a funny scene, actually. The crabs were still alive when we got home and they have some serious claws.  The Designer did his best to remain unscathed before throwing the crabs into the boiling water.  (I couldn’t even watch him do it.  At least crabs don’t scream like lobsters.)

The eating of the crab was even funnier than the prep.  I have never had such a MESSY meal before.  We had crab parts everywhere.  I’m glad we were comfortable enough with each other to get so down and dirty. It was kinda….primal.  After dinner we relaxed, had some wine and smooched.  We also watched Transamerica….and then smooched s’more.  There is definitely a lot of physical chemistry between us. That is clear.  But we’ll see where things go.  I’d like to spend more time with the Designer to see if we’re really a good fit. To see if we have fun doing things about town and the like.  I’m letting him do the proverbial driving, so we’ll see if he gets in touch!!
