Date & Dish

I got a call from my friend Angela this morning, telling me that she’s ENGAGED! I literally had goose bumps running up and down my entire body when she told me.

The funny thing is, the last time I spoke with her (which was only about a month ago), she was single, tired, bummed out because of her crazy job, and headed to Italy to spend 2 weeks with a few couples and their (seven) kids!!! So the call I got this morning was a real shocker!

Apparently, as this story goes…….Angela was visiting a church in Montepulciano, and as she was exiting the church, she noticed a very attractive man sitting at a cafe nearby. She decided to sit on the church stairs for a while because there was absolutely no way that she was going to approach him. The very attractive man from the cafe got up at some point and walked into the church. And Angela followed him in. They spoke, and Angela gave him her number at the villa where they were staying. He phoned immediately and they made plans to see another another.

I’m a little murky on the details, but they apparently had an amazing day together and he decided to go to Venice with her and her friends. At some point in Venice, he got down on one knee and said, “Will you spend the rest of your life with me?” To which, of course, she agreed. Crazy, right?

Well, they left Italy and went back to his home town in Holland, which only has about 65,000 people. Everyone in town had heard the news, so Angela and her beau spent 9 days celebrating!!

The new beau is coming to NYC in one week and will spend 12 days with my Big Ange!! I am sooooooooooooo happy for her I could burst. I hope he is as wonderful as she says and that they will be happy together.
