Do Real Men Have Cats?
Published by Red 4 years, 1 month ago in MiscellaneousI happen to be allergic to cats, so it’s very hard for me to date someone with a cat. But I was thinking about this yesterday and decided that single, straight men with cats usually have issues. Case in point - I was on the phone a couple of nights ago with the son of the dentist and he said that his cats are really important to him. I told him that I am allergic to cats and he said that was pretty much a deal-breaker.
I mean, even gay men do not have cats. They have small dogs. I know I’m generalizing here, but for the most part, I haven’t known a lot of gay men with cats.
Couples are excluded from this because the cat usually belonged to the female BEFORE she got into the relationship, so in this situation, having a cat is ok.
Do any of you have feelings on this topic? Or is it just me?
I\’m not a \”pet person.\” I do enjoy OPP - other\’s people pets. Yes I\\\’m down with OPP. Yeh you know me.
A single woman friend of mine mentioned that to me a few weeks ago. She was talking about a mutual male friend of ours who has a cat. She thought it was weird too.
Other than this guy I don\’t know of any male friends of mine with cats.
What I hate about cats is you\’ll be petting one and then all of the sudden it goes schizo and scratches you for no reason.
I like OPP as well, although I\’m really a dog person and hope to get one in the not-so-distant future.
Yeah, the thing with cats is that you never know where you stand. They can turn on you like that. I\’m all about loyalty…making me a dog-lover.
I actually do have some straight male friends with cats. I guess these men fall into the artsty/sensitive male category. Or maybe they\’re all just in the closet.
